2015年于新加坡成立并设立总部,随后拓展至马来西亚、泰国、中国台湾地区、印度尼西亚、越南及菲律宾共七大市场。Shopee拥有商品种类,包括电子消费品、家居、美容保健、母婴、服饰及健身器材等。

2018年,ShopeeGMV达到103亿美元,同比增长149.9%。

2019年第一季度,Shopee季度GMV同比增长81.8%,总订单数同比增长82.7%,App下载量超过2亿。

AppAnnie《2019移动市场》显示,2018年Shopee在全球C2C购物类App中下载量排名第一;iPriceGroup2019Q1报告显示,Shopee凭借PC端和移动端共1.84亿次访问,成为2019年第一季度东南亚地区访问量最大,且唯一流量呈正增长的电商平台。

Shopee于2016年1月在深圳和香港设立办公室,开展跨境业务,为中国跨境卖家打造一站式跨境解决方案,提供流量、物流、孵化、语言、支付和ERP支持。

2017年7月设上海办公室,服务华东市场。

2019年4月,与厦门市战略合作,于厦门落成全国首个Shopee跨境孵化中心,增设福建转运仓。同年6月,与杭州跨境电商综试区签署合作备忘录,达成战略合作,发布区域基建、人才发展及产业集群构建等战略合作举措。

Shopee母公司Sea是首家于纽交首家市的东南亚互联网企业(股票代码:SE)。

截至2019年,电子商务在东南亚整体零售行业销售总额中的占比仍然相对较低,仅有2-3%,而根据《中国电子商务发展报告(2018-2019)》,2019年上半年,中国实物商品网上零售额占社会消费品零售总额比重达19.6%,东南亚网购市场发展空间巨大。

Shopee is an e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan.

Founded in Singapore in 2015 and headquartered there, Shopee has expanded to seven markets including Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines. Shopee has a variety of products, including consumer electronics, home furnishings, beauty and health care, maternal and child products, clothing and fitness equipment.

Shopee has more than 30 million social media fans, 7 million active sellers, and more than 8,000 employees in Southeast Asia and China. It is the fastest growing e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and the preferred platform for Chinese products to go overseas in Southeast Asia.

Shopee has been growing since its establishment.

In 2018, Shopee's GMV reached US$10.3 billion, a year-on-year increase of 149.9%.

In the first quarter of 2019, Shopee's quarterly GMV increased by 81.8% year-on-year, the total number of orders increased by 82.7% year-on-year, and the number of app downloads exceeded 200 million.

AppAnnie's "2019 Mobile Market" shows that Shopee ranked first in the number of downloads among global C2C shopping apps in 2018; iPriceGroup's 2019Q1 report shows that Shopee has become the most visited e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia in the first quarter of 2019 with a total of 184 million visits on PC and mobile terminals, and the only e-commerce platform with positive traffic growth.

Shopee established offices in Shenzhen and Hong Kong in January 2016 to carry out cross-border business, creating a one-stop cross-border solution for Chinese cross-border sellers, providing traffic, logistics, incubation, language, payment and ERP support.

In July 2017, the Shanghai office was established to serve the East China market.

In April 2019, in strategic cooperation with Xiamen City, the first Shopee cross-border incubation center in the country was completed in Xiamen, and a transshipment warehouse in Fujian was added. In June of the same year, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Hangzhou Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone to reach a strategic cooperation and release strategic cooperation initiatives such as regional infrastructure, talent development and industrial cluster construction.

Shopee's parent company Sea is the first Southeast Asian Internet company to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange (stock code: SE).

As of 2019, the proportion of e-commerce in the total sales of the overall retail industry in Southeast Asia is still relatively low, only 2-3%. According to the "China E-commerce Development Report (2018-2019)", in the first half of 2019, China's online retail sales of physical goods accounted for 19.6% of the total retail sales of social consumer goods. The Southeast Asian online shopping market has huge room for development.
