The breeding season of Amazon parrots is from March to September every year. Parrots entering the breeding season should be provided with rich nutritional supplements, protein, calcium, etc.

During the breeding season, Amazon parrots will become very irritable, and male birds will become aggressive, even attacking their owners.

After the chicks have successfully hatched, if the mother bird is allowed to raise the chicks by herself, the male bird will attack the chicks after they have fully grown feathers. Many chicks that have not been taken out for about two or three months will be attacked by the parents, causing injuries, death or disability. Therefore, it is recommended to take out the chicks and hand-raise them about 25 days after hatching, after the chicks have absorbed enough immunity. If they are not abandoned by the parents, they should not be taken out too early to avoid the death of the chicks due to the high difficulty of raising them.
