This is a rough outline of the Amazon FBA return fee.

If a customer requests a return for an FBA order on Amazon, sellers of general categories do not need to pay additional fees (FBA staff will pick up the returned items for free)

But the following 5 categories are not included

Apparel

Watches

Jewelry

Shoes, Handbags & Sunglasses

Luggage

That is to say

If the product that the customer requests to return belongs to one of these 5 categories, then Amazon will still charge the seller a return fee when returning the product. This return fee is the same as the (Order Handling + Pick & Pack + Weight Handling) of this product at that time.

For example

A customer spent $20 to buy an FBA product from my store (the seller does not actually get $20 because Amazon has to deduct the seller's transaction fee and FBA fees). This product happens to belong to the Luggage category (one of the five categories). If the customer wants to return this FBA product, FBA will refund the $20 to the customer and then send FBA staff to the customer's home to pick up the return item and send the return item back to the FBA warehouse. During this process, FBA will charge the seller an additional return fee (if the return is due to FBA's own loss of the package or damage during delivery, this fee will not be charged):

Shipping Weight1.00 lb. (assuming this product is less than 1 pound)

Order Handling$1.00

Pick & Pack$1.02

Weight Handling$0.55

Total$2.57

In addition to the additional $2.57 return fee, FBA will also charge a small Refund Administration Fee. But the good news is that once a return is involved, FBA will still return the transaction fee previously charged to the seller.

Even so

Please pay attention to the product quality of FBA (especially when the FBA product belongs to the 5 major categories), because once an FBA return occurs, it is really not cost-effective for the seller to not only lose the original profit of the order, but also lose several dollars in total!
