Beijing time, June 11 morning news, Foxconn said on Sunday that it is investigating the working environment of a factory in China that is manufacturing equipment for Amazon.

A U.S. labor watchdog recently released a 94-page report, saying that after a nine-month investigation, it found that the Foxconn factory in Hengyang, Hunan Province, which undertakes the manufacture of Echo Dot smart speakers and Kindle e-readers, violated Chinese laws, with long working hours, low wages, insufficient training, and excessive reliance on "dispatched workers" or temporary workers.

"The company is conducting a comprehensive investigation into all aspects raised in the report. If it is found to be true, we will take immediate action to regulate our business and resolutely bring the factory working conditions into compliance with regulations." Foxconn Technology Group said in a statement sent to Reuters.

Taiwan's Foxconn, formally known as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd., is the world's largest electronics contract manufacturer with more than 1 million employees.

In 2010, Foxconn, which makes Apple's iPhone, came under fire for a series of suicides at its Chinese factories. At the time, the company pledged to improve working conditions. China Labor Watch said its investigation found that about 40% of the factory's workers were dispatched, far more than the 10% required by Chinese law.

Dispatched workers earn 14.5 yuan (about $2.26) per hour. During the peak season, workers also work more than 100 hours of overtime per month, far more than the 36 hours allowed by law, and some workers even work 14 consecutive days.
