“Ten thousand miles long Yangtze River, a thousand miles long Yellow River” is not an accurate expression of the length of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River, but a vivid metaphor in the creation of the literary and artistic circles to describe the vast territory of my country.

The Yangtze River originates from the southwest side of the Geladandong Peak of the Tanggula Mountains on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the "Roof of the World". The main stream flows through 11 provincial administrative regions, including Qinghai Province, Tibet Autonomous Region, Sichuan Province, Yunnan Province, Chongqing City, Hubei Province, Jiangxi Province, Anhui Province, Jiangsu Province, and Shanghai City, and flows into the East China Sea east of Chongming Island. It is 6,397 kilometers long, ranking third in the world among the world's major rivers, second only to the Nile River in Africa and the Amazon River in South America.

The Yellow River originates from the Yugur Basin at the northern foot of the Bayankala Mountains on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, flows through nine provincial administrative regions, including Qinghai Province, Sichuan Province, Gansu Province, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Shaanxi Province, Henan Province, and Shandong Province, and flows into the Bohai Sea at Dongying City. It is about 5,464 kilometers long and is a major river located in northern China. It is one of the longest rivers in the world and the second longest river in China.
