The Yangtze River is the third longest river in the world and the largest river in China. It originates from the southwest side of Geladandong, the main peak of Tanggula Mountain on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, flows eastward through 11 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, and flows into the East China Sea in Shanghai. It is more than 6,300 kilometers long. The basin area is more than 1.8 million square kilometers, accounting for about 1/5 of the total land area of ​​the country. Together with the Yellow River, it is called the "Mother River".

The Yangtze River, formerly known as "Jiang" and "Dajiang", is also known as the Yangtze River because of the ancient Yangzijin and Yangzi County (now Yangzhou) below Zhenjiang, Jiangsu. The main stream runs from the 5,820-meter snow line of Jianggendi Rufeng to the No. 50 buoy at the mouth of the Yangtze River, with a total length of more than 6,300 kilometers, second only to the Nile and the Amazon River, ranking third in the world.

The Yangtze River is rich in resources and has many tributaries and lakes. It crosses and nourishes the southern land of China, forming an important modern economic link between my country's east and west. Just as the poem of Zuohe River says: "It looks like a silver vine hanging fruit melons in the distance, and like a fierce horse heading eastward in the near distance. The broken mountains and cut walls are like a dragon sword, and the sparse water penetrates the southern country to feed thousands of families."

The tourism resources in the Yangtze River Basin are very rich, and the existing tourist areas can be divided into "one line and seven areas". That is: the Yangtze River mainstream tourist line, the Yangtze River Delta tourist area, the famous mountain scenic area in southern Anhui, the northern and western Jiangxi tourist area, the northwestern Hubei and southern Shaanxi tourist area, the western Hunan and northern Hunan tourist area, the Chongqing Sichuan tourist area, and the northern Yunnan and northern Guizhou tourist area.

The Three Gorges of the Yangtze River

The Three Gorges are formed due to the continuous rise of the crust in this area and the strong downcutting of the Yangtze River. It is rich in water resources. The Three Gorges of the Yangtze River is one of the birthplaces of ancient Chinese culture. The big canyon and deep valley were once the ancient battlefields of the Three Kingdoms and the place where countless heroes fought. There are many places of interest and historical sites here: Baidi City, Huangling, Nanjinguan Sun Furen Temple, etc. The Three Gorges of the Yangtze River is one of the world's grand canyons. The Three Gorges is 193 kilometers (kilometers) long, with cliffs on both sides, alternating beaches and gorges in the river, and turbulent water. The great Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai left a poem when he passed by here by boat: "I left Baidi in the colorful clouds in the morning and returned to Jiangling a thousand miles away in one day.
