The Amazon rainforest is a tropical rainforest located in the Amazon Basin in South America, covering an area of 7 million square kilometers (700 million hectares). It is the Amazon River that makes this rainforest full of vitality. The rainforest crosses 8 countries: Brazil (accounting for 60% of the forest area), Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana and Suriname, including French Guiana. Four of these countries named the states to which the rainforest belongs Amazonas. The Amazon rainforest accounts for half of the world's rainforest area and 20% of the forest area. It is the world's largest and most species-rich tropical rainforest.
Brazil has a tropical rainforest climate, with heavy rainfall and high temperatures. The Amazon River is the river with the largest flow, so Brazil has the largest tropical rainforest in the world. It is mainly distributed in tropical climate areas within 5 to 10 degrees north and south of the equator.
