First, let’s understand what Amazon FBA small parcel delivery and LTL are.

Small Parcel Delivery, or SPD for short, refers to goods packed in individual boxes, which are individually labeled for delivery. The following requirements must be met:

(1) All boxes must be affixed with Amazon Logistics shipment labels and carrier labels

(2) The box weight must not exceed 50 pounds, unless it contains a single large item weighing more than 50 pounds

(3) The length of any side of the box must not exceed 25 inches

Less than truckload, or LTL for short, refers to shipping boxes fixed on labeled pallets. For LTL, the truck may also be loaded with goods destined for other destinations. Full truck load (FTL). If your shipment meets the requirements for full truck load (FTL), the shipment will be shipped directly to the fulfillment center.

The biggest difference between the two is that LTL uses pallets and plastic wrap. SPD is more expensive and faster. The timeliness of SPD is 2 to 3 days, while LTL is 2 to 3 weeks. Michael mentioned that during the peak season, LTL may even take 4 to 5 weeks.
