Located on Nam Long Hill between Deep Water Bay and Wong Chuk Hang on Hong Kong Island, it covers an area of ​​150 acres. The park is divided into two parts: lowland and highland. The lowland part is called Wong Chuk Hang Park, which is the main entrance to the Ocean Park; the highland part is called Nam Long Hill Park, located in the south of Nam Long Hill. There is an aerial cable car between the highland and the lowland for tourists to ride. As early as 1955, the plan to build this park was proposed. At first, the authorities agreed to allocate 30 acres of land and the Jockey Club invested HK$78 million. Later, the land allocation increased to 150 acres and the investment increased to HK$150 million. Initially, it was only intended to build an ocean aquarium, but later it was changed to build an ocean park and was officially completed and opened on January 10, 1977.

There are three major venues in the Nanlangshan Highland of the Ocean Park, namely the Marine Animal Performance Hall, Haitao Hall, and Oceanarium. The Marine Animal Performance Hall has a giant pool with a grandstand that can accommodate more than 3,500 spectators. The animals performing here include specially trained sea lions, dolphins, and killer whales. Their wonderful performances often cause the audience to cheer and applaud. The Haitao Hall has rockery and pools that look like rocky coasts. Once the electric wave machine is turned on, the waves roll and the waves rise and fall to one meter high. There is an underwater glass viewing room here, through which you can watch the various beautiful postures of marine animals roaming underwater. The Oceanarium is divided into two parts, namely the fresh lake and the deep lake. There are more than 300 species of fish and a total of 30,000 fish living in the lake, including sharks, manta rays, and large groupers weighing more than 100 kilograms. There is a three-layer thick glass wall around the lake, and visitors can watch the fun of underwater fish activities outside the glass wall.
