Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) is the largest online e-commerce company in the United States, located in Seattle, Washington. It is one of the earliest companies to start e-commerce on the Internet. Amazon was founded in 1994. At the beginning, it only operated online book sales business. Now it has expanded to a wide range of other products. It has become the world's largest online retailer with the most product varieties and the world's second largest Internet company. Under the company's name, it also includes subsidiaries such as AlexaInternet, a9, lab126, and Internet Movie Database (IMDB).

Amazon and other sellers provide customers with millions of unique new, refurbished and second-hand products, such as books, movies, music and games, digital downloads, electronics and computers, home and garden products, toys, baby products, food, clothing, shoes and jewelry, health and personal care products, sports and outdoor products, toys, automobiles and industrial products, etc.

In August 2004, Amazon acquired Joyo.com.

On July 18, 2019, Amazon stopped providing seller services to third-party sellers on the Amazon China website.

In July 2021, Jeff Bezos officially stepped down as Amazon CEO and was succeeded by Andy Jassy.
