The area is dominated by a wide variety of tropical and subtropical fruit-viewing plants, supplemented by tropical plants for viewing flowers and leaves. It shows the whole process of tropical fruit flowering and fruiting, so that you can have a deeper understanding of it. According to different seasons, you can see the scene of blooming mountain flowers, fragrant fruit flowers, and branches full of fruits. Pink wax apples (syrup apples), yellow oranges, mangoes that bend branches, pipa fruits hanging on branches, nutritious longans and lychees, guavas with excellent taste, red fruits like cherries, purple-red coffee beans, and jackfruits, red bean trees, papayas, bananas, egg yolk fruits and other fruit trees. Here you can also see tall coconut trees, precious pandanus trees and a large number of flowers that bloom in season.

Small Animal Village

In 2008, Dalian Forest Zoo further embodied the popular science and education functions of the zoo industry and provided visitors with opportunities to get close to small animals and have leisure and entertainment. The small animal village in the free-range area was also comprehensively renovated.

After the renovation, it is divided into small animal display, human-animal affinity, children's playground and nursery center, and humanized facilities such as slides and leisure seats have been added. The design highlights the childlike landscape. The two entrances are colorful plastic steel letters and cartoon shapes. The small animal cages are wooden assembly structures with various patterns painted on them. There are also many garden sketches and theme sculptures in the area. The animal display highlights the word "small". Whether it is lions, tigers, bears and other beasts, camels, zebras and other docile animals, and chickens, ducks, rabbits and other poultry, all small animals are displayed here. In the newly built 260 square meters animal nursery center. Visitors will appreciate the whole process of animal hatching and raising young through the glass curtain wall. The visible animal breeding enriches the popular science and education functions of the scenic spot. It has become one of the most popular attractions for tourists, especially children.

Australian Kangaroo Park

The Australian Kangaroo Park is the latest attraction of Dalian Forest Zoo in 2008. It is the highlight of many renovation projects in the park in 2008. So far, tourists have truly realized the change of scenery from entering the park to the end of their trip in the free-range area.

The Australian Kangaroo Park project invested 3.5 million yuan and was completed on August 15, 2008. It was built on the platform of the rhino cage according to the mountain. It consists of a 7,000 square meter kangaroo and emu exhibition area, a 100 square meter new kangaroo cage, a 380 square meter fast food restaurant, a tourist souvenir shop and a star-rated public toilet of more than 80 square meters. A total of more than 30 red-necked kangaroos, gray kangaroos, Eugene kangaroos, red kangaroos, white kangaroos and nearly 20 Australian emus are exhibited. Visitors can get close to Australian animals such as kangaroos and emus through the tour channel.

Ecological Bird House

The bird house is located in the original Phase I Tropical Rainforest House, where nearly 20 species of tropical and subtropical birds from many countries are exhibited.

Crane Exhibition Area

The crane exhibition area is located in the Phase I enclosure area of ​​Dalian Forest Zoo, between the Dinosaur Park and the Ecological Bird House, and next to the elephant performance area. Dalian Forest Zoo originally had 8 species of cranes, including red-crowned cranes, white-naped cranes, hooded cranes, grey cranes, grey-crowned cranes, black-necked cranes, white cranes, and white-headed cranes. In order to enrich the exhibition effect, 5 species of cranes, including wattled cranes, sandhill cranes, blue cranes, black-crowned cranes, and red-necked cranes, were introduced from abroad. There are only 15 species of cranes left in the world. The number of cranes exhibited in Dalian Forest Zoo has reached 13 species and nearly 100, of which 6 are endangered cranes.

Panda House

The Panda House is divided into 4 functional areas: outdoor exhibition area, indoor exhibition area, indoor cages, and logistics area. The outdoor exhibition area covers an area of ​​about 1,200 square meters, which can ensure that the three giant pandas have their own independent activity space; the indoor exhibition area covers an area of ​​500 square meters, which can ensure that the giant pandas can live and play in bad weather and is convenient for tourists to watch all day long.
