Net sales were $125.56 billion, up 43.6% from $87.44 billion in the same period of 2019. Net product sales were $71.06 billion, up 40.6% from $50.54 billion in the same period of the previous year. Net service sales reached $54.5 billion, up 47.7% from $36.9 billion in the previous year.
Net sales in North America were $75.35 billion, up 40.4% from $53.67 billion in the fourth quarter of 2019. North America accounted for 60.0% of total net sales in the fourth quarter of 2019 and 66.8% of total sales excluding AWS.
International net sales totaled $37.48 billion, up 57.4% from $23.81 billion in the fourth quarter of 2019. International net sales accounted for 29.8% of total net sales in the fourth quarter and 33.2% of total sales excluding AWS.
Amazon Web Services revenue reached $12.74 billion in the quarter, up 28.1% from $9.95 billion in the same period last year. AWS sales accounted for 10.1% of consolidated revenue in the fourth quarter of 2019. AWS earned $3.56 billion in operating income, accounting for 51.9% of the $6.87 billion in consolidated operating income reported by Amazon in the fourth quarter.
