Breaking Out of the Amazon is a modern military action film produced by the August 1st Film Studio in 2002. It is adapted from the true story of two Chinese soldiers' adventurous training at the International Anti-Terrorism School in Venezuela. The film tells the touching story of two special forces lieutenants, Wang Hui and Hu Xiaolong, who went to the "Hunter School" in the Amazon Basin in America for training. As Chinese steel warriors, they defeated strong opponents from various countries beyond their limits and won glory for the country and the army.

The background of the film is set in the Amazon River Basin in South America, where the climate is unpredictable and the environment is harsh, which is very suitable for organizing special forces training. Therefore, the United Nations established an international special forces training center there, code-named "Hunter School". The Chinese government sent two special forces here to receive more than two months of "inhuman" military training. During the training, they always held the belief that "the interests of the motherland are above all else" and "I represent the People's Republic of China".
