1. Use the Command Prompt

Although it may sound tricky, the easiest way to get the product key in Windows 11 is to use the Command Prompt. All you need to do is open the Start menu and search for "Command Prompt." When you see the application, open it and type the following command:

wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey

After typing that command (or pasting it), press Enter on your keyboard and you will see the product key on the next line of the Command Prompt. Make a note of this string of code if you want to activate Windows 11 in the future.

2. Check your receipt and/or email

Another way to find the product key on Windows 11 is to check the receipt when you purchased your version of Windows. If you bought it through Microsoft or Best Buy, you can find the product key in the "Orders" or "Purchases" section of the online version of the store.

If you bought it through Amazon, check Amazon's Your Games and Software Library section. You may also want to check your email, as that email may contain instructions on how to find your product key, or the email may list the product key.

3. Find a physical sticker on your PC

You can use the listed product key to find a physical sticker on your PC, which usually lists the Windows edition and product key. Note that you can only use this listed key with the corresponding Windows edition. So, if the sticker has a key for Windows 10 Home, you can only activate it for Windows 11 Home. If the sticker has a key for Windows 11 Pro, you will only be able to activate Windows 11 Pro.
