Recently, many friends have shared a lot of ideas and directions about product selection, but I think they are too vague. It is better to ask for help from yourself than to ask for help from others. After a week of exploration and field testing, we finally saw results in product selection.
We are currently using the Amazon FBM model and operate more than 100 stores, so we pay great attention to product selection and refined operations. So today I certainly can't tell you what specific products we make. I can only provide you with a detailed idea and direction, so don't ask me embarrassing questions. Otherwise I will cry for you
1. Try not to choose seasonal or festive products
Take Amazon US as an example. There are many festivals in the United States every year, such as Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc. You should try to avoid these seasonal products when selecting products, because once the season is over, the products will inevitably be unsalable. At that time, the long-term storage fees will overwhelm you. You either spend money to destroy them or spend money to move them to overseas warehouses and wait until next year to find an opportunity to continue selling them. Therefore, newcomers should try to avoid such products and try to choose products without seasonal or festive characteristics, which can be sold all year round to minimize the risk of product selection errors.
2. Do a good job of querying to avoid infringement
As we all know, the United States has very strict protection of intellectual property rights, which is simply harsh. If the T-shirts you sell have small Disney patterns or words on them, then your listing will not only face the fate of being deleted, but your store will also face the result of check or close. Before deciding on a product, it is best to go to the relevant patent website in the United States to check the patent situation to avoid low-level mistakes such as infringement of intellectual property rights.
