1. Register a Taobao account

First, you need to register an account on Taobao. Go to the "Homepage" of Taobao and click "Free Registration";

You can choose "Mobile phone number registration" or "Email registration". The following is an example of "Email registration". After filling in the information, click "Agree to the agreement and submit registration information" to "Successful registration".

Then go to "Personal mailbox" to receive the "confirmation email" from Taobao. Click "Confirmation link" - "Activate account", and the first step of opening an online store is completed.

Note: If you have already bought something on Taobao, you don't need to register again. On Taobao, you can have two identities at the same time as a "buyer" and a "seller".

2. Alipay real-name authentication

Click "My Taobao" to see the prompt "Please authenticate your real name before selling products". Just follow the "prompt".

This authentication increases the complexity of opening a Taobao store to a certain extent, but it also greatly increases the security of the entire Taobao transaction.

3. Taobao store certification

Enter the "Seller Center" - "I want to open a store" or "Free store" to start the store certification. The store certification includes "Alipay real-name authentication" and "upload real personal photos" (identity information authentication).

4. Store opening examination

You enter the "Seller Center", click "I want to open a store" or "Free store" to enter the store opening task page, and click "Start the exam" to start the store opening online exam;

Before the exam, you need to choose the industry you are going to operate. There are 30 questions in total. You will pass if you answer 25 questions correctly. If you fail the exam, you need to retake the exam until you pass it before you can open a store.

Before taking the exam, you can click "Store Opening Guidance" to understand the exam knowledge points and test questions.

The exam questions are in the form of "single-choice questions", with a total of 30 questions. You will pass the exam if you answer 25 questions correctly or more. The exam time limit is 90 minutes. If you do not pass, please retake the exam.

Step 1: Enter the "Seller Center" and click "I want to open a store" - "Take the exam".

Step 2: Click "Start the exam" to enter the exam system to take the exam.

Step 3: After submitting the answer sheet, you will be redirected to the exam results page. If you answer 25 questions correctly, you will pass the exam. Click "Please click here to fill in the store information and create a store."

Note: If you fail the exam, you need to retake the exam until you pass.

5. Set basic store information

After completing the "Online Exam", users can view their own stores in "Complete Store Information", and you can see the words "View My Store" in the "Store Management" on the left menu bar.

Step 1: Click "Fill in store information" to complete the store information;

Step 2: The "Integrity Management Commitment" appears. After reading for 10 seconds, the words "Agree" and "Disagree" will be displayed. Click "Agree" after reading;

Step 3: When filling in the store information, the items with "*" are required. Check the box to agree to abide by the "Product Release Rules" and "Taobao Rules" and agree to sign the "Consumer Protection Agreement", and click "Save";

Step 4: After the store is successfully opened, users can enter the "Seller Center"-"Store Management" to "View My Store".
