Guangzhou Evergrande

In the 2010 season, Evergrande Group bought out all the shares of Guangzhou Football Club for 100 million yuan on March 1, and GAC Group obtained the one-year naming rights for 25 million yuan. The team was named Guangzhou Evergrande GAC Team.

The team introduced well-known players such as Gao Lin, Zheng Zhi, Sun Xiang, and Muric during this year. In the Chinese League One this season, the team successfully advanced to the Super League four rounds ahead of schedule and finally won the first place in the league.

In the 2013 season, Guangzhou Evergrande defended the Chinese Super League championship three rounds ahead of schedule and achieved three consecutive championships. In the two-round match of the Asian Champions League final, Guangzhou Evergrande tied with Seoul FC 3-3 and won the championship with the advantage of away goals. This is also the first time that a Chinese club has won the championship of this event.

In the 2013 Club World Cup, Guangzhou Evergrande participated in the first round of the Asian Champions League as the new champion of the Asian Champions League. This is also the first time that a Chinese team has appeared in the Club World Cup. In the first round, they defeated Egypt's Ahly 2-0, and lost 0-3 to the Champions League champion Bayern Munich in the second round, and finally won the fourth place.

In the 2015 season, the club officially used the new team name Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao. On October 31, in the 30th round of the Chinese Super League, Guangzhou Evergrande defeated Beijing Guoan 2-0 and won the 2015 Chinese Super League championship, achieving the fifth consecutive championship in the Chinese Super League.

On November 6, 2015, Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao Football Club was officially listed on the New Third Board, becoming the first listed team in Asia. Evergrande Taobao has a total share capital of 375 million shares, with Evergrande Real Estate and Alibaba holding 60% and 40% respectively.

In the AFC Champions League, Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao won 3 games, tied 1 game and lost 2 games in the group stage, accumulating 10 points and appearing as the top of Group H. In the quarter-finals, they eliminated Seongnam FC with a total score of 3-2 (1-2 away, 2-0 at home), and in the quarter-finals, they defeated Kashiwa Reysol with a total score of 4-2 (3-1 away, 1-1 at home) to advance to the East Asian finals, where they will face the Japanese team Gamba Osaka.

On October 21, Evergrande defeated Gamba Osaka with a total score of 2-1, reaching the AFC Champions League final for the second time in three years.

On November 7 and November 21, 2015, Guangzhou Evergrande defeated Al Ahli Dubai with a total score of 1-0 (0-0 away, 1-0 at home), won the 2015 AFC Champions League and entered the Club World Cup for the second time.
