Alibaba's levels can be simply considered as P-series and M-series.

Because Alibaba started out as a B2B company, it needed to manage a large amount of sales at that time, so it established a strong and leading management system, which is the M-series.

With the increasing importance of technology, the M-series is no longer open to middle and lower-level employees, so generally they take the P-series, which is the "technology" route.

The technology here refers to general technology and professional ability, not computers.

So those who work in sales can also be P, and those who work in products, operations, and marketing can also be P.

The official definition of the naming rules for the P-level given by Alibaba is from P1-P14. Before 2011, they would recruit P4, but there were no more after that. Campus recruits all start from P5+.
