Let’s talk about Alibaba first. It is a standard B2B model, where companies do business on it and sell goods to other companies. The companies here can be manufacturers, trading companies, distributors, retailers and all other non-end users.
JD.com and Taobao are typical B2C models, which means companies are selling to ordinary consumers. The companies are still the ones mentioned above.
I would like to emphasize here that many people and many places define Taobao as a C2C model. I strongly disagree with this. I think that all sales activities for the purpose of making money are not C2C in the true sense. Even if a street vendor is not a C-end, but a B-end. The real C2C only exists in the state of barter.
Many people say that JD.com is B2C because many of its products, especially 3C products, are operated by JD.com itself, while Taobao is not, so Taobao is not B2C. But I think Taobao is operated by many Bs, so it is still B2C.
We must look at their words correctly. JD.com is a B2C transaction website, and Taobao is a B2C transaction platform. But in fact, JD.com has long been open to enterprises.
Again, there is no difference between Taobao and Tmall, but Tmall emphasizes enterprises and brands, while Taobao does not emphasize this, but the essence is the same, both are just selling goods.
