To cancel an Alibaba account, first make sure that the account is in normal use and there is no record of any restricted account. Then, you can try to cancel it through the Taobao mobile client or computer. In the mobile client, you can open "Settings - Account and Security - Cancel Account", and the application will pop up a message window to confirm the cancellation. Click "Confirm to continue to cancel". If there is a transaction record within 15 days, it will prompt that the cancellation failed and you need to wait 15 days before applying again.

It is worth noting that there is no unbinding between Alibaba account and Taobao account, because Taobao account and Alibaba account are different and cannot be used interchangeably. Therefore, if your Alibaba account has been cancelled, you also need to unbind the Alibaba account in Alipay.

If you are unable to cancel your account, for example, if you have opened a store on Taobao and used your Taobao account to authorize logging into Alibaba Cloud, then you will basically be unable to cancel your account.
