Jiong Wu met Jack Ma in 1997, became an angel investor of Alibaba in the early 2000s, and officially joined Alibaba in May 2000 as the Chief Technology Officer of Alibaba Group. At Alibaba, he led the development of the core technology and product design of Alibaba B2B website, Taobao and related systems.
