The Alibaba Mathematics Competition usually consists of two stages: the preliminary round and the final round:

1. Preliminary round:

- Competition format: individual competition, online competition.

- Question types: multiple choice questions, solution questions, proof questions.

- Competition rules: There is one round of preliminary rounds, and the finalists are determined based on the scores. The preliminary round is an open-book exam, and it is allowed to consult and refer to online/offline materials, and use programming software to answer questions, but it is prohibited to discuss with others, pass on the competition questions, and any other forms of cheating.

2. Final round:

- Competition format: individual competition, online competition.

- Question types: solution questions, proof questions.

- Competition rules: The final round is divided into five tracks, namely algebra and number theory, geometry and topology, analysis and equations, combinatorial and probability, and applied and computational mathematics. The contestants need to select a track before they can enter the question-answering interface (note: once the track is determined, it cannot be changed). Each track has six questions, and the organizing committee will award prizes based on the contestants' scores. The final is a closed-book exam, and no reference materials or scientific computing software are allowed. Contestants must complete all questions independently, and cheating, discussing questions with others, or passing on questions is strictly prohibited during the competition.
