阿里巴巴数学竞赛主要考察代数与数论、几何与拓扑、分析与方程、组合与概率、应用与计算数学五个方面的知识。

预选赛为开卷考试,允许查阅、参考线上/线下资料,允许使用编程软件答题,但禁止与他人讨论、外传赛题以及其他一切形式的作弊行为。决赛为闭卷考试,不允许参考任何资料或者使用科学计算软件。
Alibaba Mathematics Competition mainly tests knowledge in five aspects: algebra and number theory, geometry and topology, analysis and equations, combinatorics and probability, and applied and computational mathematics.
The following are the specific contents of each aspect:
- Algebra and number theory: abstract algebra, algebraic number theory, commutative algebra, groups and representation theory.
- Geometry and topology: algebraic topology, differential topology, manifolds and Lie groups, Riemannian geometry.
- Analysis and equations: harmonic analysis, elliptic equations, complex analysis, real analysis.
- Combinatorics and probability: extreme value/probability/algebraic combinatorics, graph theory, discrete geometry, probability theory and stochastic processes, operations research and combinatorial optimization, and mathematical theory of computer science.
- Applied and computational mathematics: ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations, optimization methods, numerical linear algebra, numerical analysis, and machine learning.
The preliminary round is an open-book exam. You are allowed to consult online/offline materials and use programming software to answer questions, but you are prohibited from discussing with others, passing on questions, and any other forms of cheating. The final round is a closed-book exam. You are not allowed to refer to any materials or use scientific computing software.
