Given that such complaints have indeed had a significant impact on platform merchants, and the complexity of such infringement complaints and the need to determine whether infringement is established require case-by-case judgment, in order to better reflect the principle of fairness and justice, Alibaba will adopt the following rules for handling font infringement complaints:

1. If the effective judicial judgment and administrative ruling provided by the font rights holder proves that the merchant’s use of certain characters in the font has constituted copyright infringement, Alibaba will accept the complaint and delete the infringing link.

2. If the font rights holder provides evidence that the merchant complained about has used its font as a whole, constituting copyright infringement, Alibaba will also accept the complaint and delete the infringing link.

Here, Alibaba reminds dear merchants that you still need to be cautious when using individual characters in a font. Although your use does not necessarily infringe the rights of the font rights holder, it may still constitute infringement in certain specific circumstances.
