"Alibaba and the Forty Thieves" is one of the stories in One Thousand and One Nights, telling the story of how a poor carpenter Alibaba bravely fought against forty robbers through wit.

The story begins when Alibaba accidentally heard the secret code of the forty robbers while cutting wood, so he found the robbers' hiding place. He came up with a plan to bring the treasure hidden by the robbers back home, but his sister-in-law accidentally leaked the secret and let the robbers discover Alibaba's identity. The robbers decided to take revenge, they disguised themselves as merchants, hid themselves in a wooden cabinet, and tried to enter Alibaba's home to kill him. But Alibaba's intelligence allowed him to successfully see through the robbers' plan and eventually defeat them all.
