On February 2, AliExpress issued a "Reaffirmation of Cross-border Food Control Rules": Based on the fact that food is not suitable for cross-border sales due to its commodity characteristics, it is easily affected by cross-border logistics timeliness, leading to expiration, fashion and other commodity quality problems. At the same time, countries have different food safety standards, so AliExpress does not allow cross-border sales of food. This is clearly announced in Article 18 of AliExpress's prohibition and restriction rules.

Note: Point 2 of the original Article (18): Live plants, live animals, seeds, etc. in commodities that should not be sold because of their unsuitable cross-border sales properties will be merged into Article (12), and Article (12) will be amended as follows:

The content of the above Article (12) will take effect 7 days after this announcement (February 9, 2021).

Some sellers still sell food in the wrong category. The related illegal products include but are not limited to (see the examples of illegal products below). In order to consider the risk prevention and control of the platform, the platform will delete these illegal products from now on. From February 19, 2021, the platform will start deleting products and deducting points. Sellers are requested to conduct self-inspection and remove illegal products on their own to avoid penalties.
