I have worked as a customer service representative for a Tmall store, a company art designer, and a government (mayor) hotline operator. During college, I opened Taobao and AliExpress stores with my friends.
Jobs like customer service and operators correspond to basic positions in e-commerce. It's boring, and the pressure is so high that I feel depressed and anxious. The salary is also very low, and I don't even have time to eat when I'm busy.
I still remember the scene when the express delivery was stranded and the warehouse was burst due to heavy snow.
This job has no status and no money.
The only advantage is probably that the customer service rotation system is relatively complete.
Artist, if the company's business is tight, you need to work overtime frequently. The work content is easy to master, but it's annoying that the client keeps asking for changes.
Speaking of which, I also Photoshopped some "before" and "after" photos for the plastic surgery hospital...it's hard to describe the feeling. The salary is not high either.
I was mainly tired of commuting three hours a day.
As for starting a business, I was in front of the computer and in the warehouse every day except for eating and sleeping. I worked more than ten hours a day with two friends.
Although I majored in e-commerce, to be honest, I didn't learn anything from this major. The course taught me things for two years, and you can learn everything if you open a store and work for a month.
Among my friends who followed the employment direction of the major, some worked in customer service, sales, and operations. There were very few who worked as artists.
But I think learning graphic design and advertising production are good skills, because I worked as a game commentator for a while during college and needed to learn how to make videos.
As for those who didn't find a job, I learned that one went to Sinopec, one went to a hospital (not a medical staff), one took the civil service exam and I don't know if he passed, and one did an internship as a police officer.
How should I put it? All the positions I have worked in e-commerce are basic positions, and the salary level is basically, so I can still survive. However, most of the students who have just graduated from college also do these jobs.
The bosses of those Internet companies are very good at making big promises and giving chicken soup for the soul. They are very good at market analysis, but they just don’t do human work.
If you want to do a job related to your major, I think you can learn advertising production, including graphic design and video production. After all, this is a technical job. The longer your experience, the more skilled you are, and the more successful you will be. At worst, you can still be a training teacher.
Customer service and operations are relatively easy to lose their jobs and not easy to find a job again. My friend told me that he went for an interview, and two days later he told me that the store was closed and he had to start looking for a job again. I don’t know how he is now.
