Liuzhou No. 1 Vocational School was founded in 1983. In 1996, it passed the assessment with the highest score in the region and became the first "National Key Vocational Secondary School". In 2002, it was recognized as a "National Key Construction Demonstration Vocational School" by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance. In 2003, it took the lead in the Guangxi education system to pass the ISO9000.2001 international quality management system standard certification. In the same year, the "Liuzhou Vocational Education Science Research Institute" approved by the Liuzhou Municipal Government was established in the school.

In April 2004, our school was awarded the "National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Talent Training Project Experimental School" by the China Association for Science and Technology as the only vocational school in the country. The school now has 10 majors, 81 classes, 3,634 students, 261 faculty members, 185 full-time teachers, 178 of whom have bachelor's degrees or above, accounting for 96.2% of full-time teachers, and 46 of whom have senior professional titles, accounting for 24.9% of full-time teachers. The total campus area is 280 acres, and the school building area is 43,841 square meters. Various educational and teaching facilities are advanced and complete, which can fully meet the needs of students' experiments and skill training, and have initially realized paperless office. It is a comprehensive secondary vocational school with three locations in one school, integrating high-quality junior high schools, comprehensive high schools, and vocational secondary schools, covering primary, secondary, and tertiary majors.

Since the 15th Five-Year Plan, the school has established a development strategy of "strengthening education and scientific research, refining academic education, expanding training education, and activating community education" facing the society and the market, strengthening the construction of campus culture with the theme of "aim high and aspire to be good", and insisting on providing high-quality vocational education services for local economic and social development. It has cultivated a batch of applied talents with multiple skills. The enrollment rate of junior high school students admitted to key high schools in the district and city ranks among the best in the city, and the enrollment rate of high school students maintains an advanced level among similar schools. Vocational secondary school graduates have been in short supply for many years. The school implements the policy of giving equal importance to academic education and training education. It is the training base for secondary vocational teachers in Guangxi and the re-employment training center for laid-off workers in Liuzhou.
