According to the "Zhejiang Province Urban System Planning (2010-2020)" approved by the State Council, the new district will form the core area of ​​the Central Zhejiang Urban Agglomeration together with Jinhua (a prefecture-level city in Zhejiang Province) and Yiwu City in the future, becoming the fourth largest metropolitan area in Zhejiang Province and an important growth pole driving the economic and social development of the central and western regions of Zhejiang.
