In terms of scale, the eastern coastal areas are in a leading position.

In 2019, the top five provinces and cities in terms of total cross-border e-commerce retail imports and exports in China were: Guangdong Province, Zhejiang Province, Henan Province, Shanghai, and Tianjin, among which the total amount of Guangdong Province far exceeded that of other provinces and cities. From the perspective of the 59 cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones, the top five cities in terms of total cross-border e-commerce retail imports and exports in 2019 were: Dongguan City, Guangzhou City, Shenzhen City, Ningbo City, and Zhengzhou City.
