Ebay was founded in Shanghai in August 1999. Mainly engaged in e-commerce, it was founded by Shao Yibo and Tan Haiyin, both of whom were from Shanghai and graduated from Harvard Business School in the United States.

In February 2000, it pioneered the 24-hour non-stop hotline service in China.

In 2002, Eachnet formed an alliance with eBay, changed its name to eBay Eachnet, and quickly developed into the largest online trading community in China. The predecessor of eBay China was Eachnet, but there is no claim of a founder.
